Dancin'

Today we saw 2 of our old students from Helsinki!!  They are only in town for 10 days and between safari's they made time to stop by for a quick drink.  It was SO nice!!  Tatiana is studying zoology and Dima is an amateur photographer.  What a perfect vacation destination.  Tatiana's words of wisdom based on 3 years of grueling university...'if you love it... don't study it!!'  Pretty true.

Mom... you know that hospital that one of your church groups donated to?  ALMC.  We have a friend who is a surgeon there.  Her husband is a missionary and she volunteers at the hospital a few days a week.  They go to Australia for a 2 months every year to earn the money to support themselves here and continue their work.  Anyhow, this was her last Facebook post.  I thought you would be interested.

Some days I wonder if I should leave Tanzania, go back to the West permanently and earn money so I can send it here. Today I found out that because the hospital has had no money they had no gauzes for a week. They were using cloths on my burns patients wounds and hence they got reinfected. They haven't been able to do any xrays for a week as not enough power and no money to pay for fuel for the generator.
