I have officially been a blogger for an entire month. Yea!
Hope you like the face lift the blog got today.
Daddy has been sick for a few days now. Today he finally succumbed to staying home. Even though he was sick, and spent a good portion of the day in the bathroom, it was nice to have him here. Otherwise it was a slow-oh-oh day.
Her is Kaia with her new Cinderella swim bag. It matches her room :)
Today was twin day at school. Kaia's EC class was paired with the M1 students (about 11 years old) as 'twins'. Kaia's class dressed like elves and the M1s dressed like reindeer. (They were supposed to make elf hats in school which would have really helped her costume but they ran out of time). Eric the music teacher was Santa. Kaia had a very clear understanding that it was Eric dressed like Santa but that Santa himself wasn't there. In fact she is certain that Santa didn't even know that Eric was dressed like him today.
Daddy was kind enough to take Kaia to put air in the tires while I cooked dinner. Theo patiently waited with me as I worked.
Avocado tree is in season AGAIN. Not that I am ungrateful in the least but we are getting 3-5 a day and I am really struggling to find something interesting to do with them. Thankfully both kids are great about eating them plain, so good for them too. A few nights ago we had guacamole for dinner, and not as a side but as a main dish. Alice and Moses are also more than happy to take some home.
We now all have Native American Indian names.
Theo - Dented Cheek
Kaia - Long Hair
Carl - Bald Eagle
Me - Nose snot
(Kaia named me and Carl was too sick to help me)
Kaia is working on her rhyming words. We have a friend named Eanna, pronounced a(like the letter)-na. Last week out of the blue she announced that Eanna rhymed with anus. Poor Eanna. Yesterday she announced that mittens rhymed with kittens. I think we are getting somewhere with this.
Theo can now answer yes, he kind of shakes his body in an up and down direction. He will answer any question with a yes, in all honestly is completely meaningless. He is quite keen to communicate though.
Alice is a Grandmother!! Remember she is the exact same age as Carl. Her 19 year old daughter (actually niece but Alice raised her because her sister died when her twin girls were very young) just had a baby boy via emergency c-section. Both are doing well. The baby was about 3 kilos and apparently cries all the time. Her daughter went home today. She will now spend a month in the house. She isn't allowed to leave or to do any work. She is completely taken care of and will eat and eat and eat, lots of fatty foods. If she doesn't emerge enormously fat then people will say behind her back that her husband is not a good man. Now she doesn't actually have a husband but she does have a man that says he plans to stick around. Doesn't sound like this girl's life will be easy but we are all excited to have a new baby around. The name will be soon to come.
