Happy Eid

So, thanks to the Muslims, today was a holiday for Carl and Kaia.  It was nice to have them home but Carl worked most of the day anyway and Theo has 2 top teeth coming in.  As you can imagine we have had nicer days.

Today is Uncle Dave's Birthday.  He is now 35.  Well done.  Uncle Dave... we tried so hard to get a hold of you, we called and called all morning long.  Then the power went out for the afternoon and by the time it came back on it was way too late to call you.  So Happy Happy Birthday Uncle Dave!!  We sure thought about you a lot today.  We love you!!!!!!!  You old MAN!!!!!!

Here is the handle that Moses made yesterday.  I am sure you can tell which one he made but he did a really good job!  I think I like it more than the original.  Maybe we will have to leave them all lying on the stove with the burner on.

Kaia doesn't really have a lovey but she does like to sleep with something and carry something around, she just doesn't really care what it is.  Last night she slept with this bath toy.  It has a backpack just like her when she goes to school.  Before she goes to bed every night I tell her I love her and she says 'I'll miss you, I'll cry a little bit, bye mummy'.

Even when it comes to doing chores around the house, the children are never too far away.

Homemade pizza for dinner.  Carl does the dough and it is SO yummy.  Kaia helps with the toppings.  She is getting pretty good, she can roll out the dough a bit, spread out the tomato paste really well, put 5 mushrooms on each pizza, and lick up anything that touches the pan.  Our new trick... we have found that if we fry up the veggies a little bit before putting them on the pizza then they are nice and soft and the kids devour them.

Eating it is the best part.  I tried and tried to get a photo of Theo without flash face and I could only get this one as he turned to rub against her face.  He is so affectionate and this is so 'Theo'.
